What is the protocol if the airline is overbooked and offers me an incentive to take another flight?

We know it’s tempting, but don’t give up your seat no matter how enticing the incentive is to “take the next flight.”  What seems like a simple solution can turn into a travel nightmare. 

Plus, changing flights on your own may be against the client’s policy. Your client depends on you to be on the scheduled flight and arrive at the destination on time.
